Top-tier faculty
Today, students learn from a full-time 3,300-member faculty. Another 8,300 staff members support the University’s mission. Many of the faculty members hold or have held major posts in national scholarly or professional organizations and have earned election to the most prestigious academic academies and organizations.
Two Nobel Laureates: Dr. Aziz Sancar, co-recipient of the 2015 Nobel Prize in Chemistry and Dr. Oliver Smithies (1925-2017), co-recipient of the 2007 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
Our world-class faculty include 38 members of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences; 21 members of the National Academy of Medicine; seven members of the National Academy of Engineering; 12 members of the National Academy of Sciences; and 84 fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
