Chancellor’s Search Committee announces public forums
Public forums are designed to provide an opportunity for students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members to share ideas about the qualities the University’s next chancellor should have with the search committee.
Dear Carolina Community:
The Chancellor’s Search Committee began its work last week to identify candidates to recommend as the 12th chancellor at Carolina. These are exciting and extraordinary times in higher education, and the committee has pledged to find the strongest candidates to recommend to lead our great University. The search committee will hold two forums for individuals to share their opinions about what they hope to see in the next chancellor.
The forums are designed to provide an opportunity for students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members to share ideas about the qualities the University’s next chancellor should have with the search committee. Please join us at one of the following forums to share your thoughts and ideas:
3:30 to 5 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 17, Auditorium, Frank Porter Graham Student Union
5:30 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 18, Pleasants Room, Wilson Library
If you are unable to attend in person, you may also share your thoughts at https://chancellorsearch.unc.edu/feedback or by emailing chancellorsearch@unc.edu. Please know that responses are subject to the N.C. Public Records law.
Your input will help the search committee create a leadership statement to use when recruiting candidates. The leadership statement will be developed from the charge given by UNC Interim President Bill Roper, feedback from the public forums and the views of the search committee members about the qualities of the next chancellor. The leadership statement also will reflect the priorities of the University regarding teaching, research and public service.
Sincerely,
Richard Stevens
Chair, Chancellor’s Search Committee
